Overview

The lecture Introduction to High-Performance Computing (HPC) is aimed at MSc or PhD students who are working on a numerical research topic and plan to use/are already using the local (or other) HPC cluster. The course gives a general introduction to HPC and includes many practical exercises on the local HPC systems.

The topics of the lecture include:

  • Using HPC Clusters
  • Parallel Programming Models
  • Introduction to MPI
  • Introduction to OpenMP
  • Using Matlab Distributed Compute Server (MDCS)
  • GPU Computing
  • Data Storage and Management
