Introduction

The Earth System Modeling Framework (ESMF) is high-performance, flexible software infrastructure for building and coupling weather, climate, and related Earth science applications. The ESMF defines an architecture for composing complex, coupled modeling systems and includes data structures and utilities for developing individual models.

Installed version

ESMF is installed in the environment hpc-uniol-env in the version:

ESMF/7.0.0

and in the environment hpc-env/6.4 in the version

ESMF/7.1.0r

Using ESMF on the HPC cluster

To use ESMF, you have to load the module first:

module load ESMF

Once loaded, you can choose between various ESMF applications, each one starting with ESMF_*.

ESMF_Info
ESMF_InfoC
ESMF_Regrid
ESMF_RegridWeightGen
ESMF_Scrip2Unstruct
ESMF_WebServController

For each of them, you can add the command --help to get an overview about the commands available, e.g.:

 ESMF_Regrid --help

Documentation

The full documentation of ESMF can be found here.
